YOU SUCCEED IF YOU UNITE TO ORGANIZE MIDDLE-CLASS VOTERS FOR HIGHER WAGES.
WE LOST MIDDLE-CLASS VOTERS TO TRUMP BECAUSE OF INCOME STAGNATION.
READ THE DETAILS BELOW!
I first want to thank you wholeheartedly for your support throughout the years and especially for this last year. You elected seven new progressive Democrats in the House and two in the Senate. You are on the way to take seven Congressional seats in Pennsylvania as a result of our redistricting plans. You are also on the way to take back the legislature in Pennsylvania in two years as a result of our legislative redistricting plan there. Now it is time for you to move ahead and take our country back from the Republican Party and Donald Trump, the conman and false prophet, and his henchmen. Please donate here at today so we can continue our work to attain our shared goals.
Trump and the Republicans will lose the next election badly if you join our new campaign and help band people together in the country. Trump is by far the most unpopular president in history and his many proposed policies will further harm most in our country. We must renew the fight for women's rights, for gay right's, for minority right's, equal justice under the law, for the environment, for stopping global warming and all other important liberal issues you support. Let us protest and organize or the Republicans and Donald Trump will destroy our economy and our country. He will nominate a right- wing extremist to the Supreme Court and do away with Roe v. Wade and gay marriage.
Trump's first proposal is to get rid of Obamacare. This is an enormous tax cut for the billionaire class that pays taxes so 30 million people who could not afford decent insurance and medical care now have it. Wall Street is happy because now they will be able to invest the extra billions from the billionaire class.
The majority of women voted for Donald Trump. Almost two -thirds of middle-class women voted for Donald Trump. Their number one issue was the economy and they were frustrated with economic inequality and 36 years of stagnant or declining wages for middle-`class earners. We must demonstrate to him that we demand our rights and will not sit back when he takes away our hard fought liberties.
Our planet and the environment are at risk. His new EPA head does not believe in global warming. He has made his career suing the EPA, claiming it does not have the right to regulate to inhibit global warming. In addition, the nominee for Secretary of the Interior is poised to destroy federal lands, with extraction of coal, oil and other minerals. He feels it is his mission, to give out oil and mining rights to the extraction industry. He owns a consulting company his wife and family run which specializes in advising how to get extraction rights from government lands. In addition, he sits on the board of the very pipeline many of you protested for ignoring minority rights and for destroying the environment.
Please join our campaign for a rebirth of the Democratic Party from the ashes of the Trump disaster.
First, we must reform the vision of the Democratic Party to focus on increased wages for everyone. It is now clear from the polling results that Democrats lost a strong majority in the middle-class comprising 76% of voters. They tied among the wealthy comprising 7% of the country. And last, they did extremely well among the bottom income group comprising 17% of the country.
Losing the middle-class is a disgrace. We are the party of the people. The Republicans are the party of the wealthy. However in this election we became just as much a party of the wealthy as the Republicans. The Democratic Party now serves the top 7% as well as Republicans. In addition, Democrats serve the bottom 17% of people offering programs to help them advance. What we fail to do is to uphold economic justice for the 76% who have faced stagnant wages for 36 years. The enormous gains in productivity this segment has produced has resulted in only vast corporate profits which have flowed to a billionaire class. The billionaire class has increased their wealth by over 400% during the same time frame.
An economy is made by people; it is not made by God or nature. As such, it can be changed by
people. Economic injustice can be corrected. All other forms of injustice flow from this. People who voted for Donald Trump have put aside the environment, women's rights, gay rights, racial injustice and other social policies until this is solved. We have the worst economic inequality since 1910. The middle-class's top three voting concerns were economic.
Many people have concluded that Trump's voters' concerns about immigration was racist. However, if you delve into the data that is not true. First, the reason the middle-class is concerned is because they feel new immigrants are taking their jobs and depressing their wages. If their wages were rapidly increasing they would not have much concern. Also, the African-American vote increased for Trump by 8% and the Hispanic vote by 10%. These increases occurred among middle-income minority voters with the same issues as other middle-income voters. Democrats not only lost white, middle-income voters but many African-American, and Hispanic middle-income voters. Ironically, if Democratic programs to help the poor rise to the middle-class, these voters are likely to become more Republican if they believe the Republican Party will then meet their economic concerns better.
The myth is that only blue-collar wages are down. This is not true. Blue-collar workers were the first effected. The incomes of physicians, lawyers and other professionals are also down. Every person who works or worked for a living is feeling the pain of stagnant or declining wages as the billionaire class gets richer. A fast growing economy will not solve the economic problems if our institutions are designed to push all the income increases to the billionaire class.
For example, the billionaire class pays a lower percent of their income in taxes than the middle-class pays. These are institutional problems created by our laws which were designed by people. With Republicans in control, these laws will get much worse, not better. Recently we saw little happen with gridlock in Congress. Candidates who blatantly lied continually “gaslighted” us. Now we must focus on putting this 76% first, the middle-class and working people of the country. Much of the Democratic leadership had narrowed its focus to the upper 7% of income people in the professional segment, namely those having graduate degrees who make more than $100,000 per year, while blaming the middle for not getting a graduate degree. Obviously, if we have a hundred million brain surgeons, brain surgeons would make minimum wage. Blaming the victims of stagnant or declining wages produced by the billionaire class who are capturing all gains in productivity through an economy designed to increase their income and wealth does not and will not improve the condition of the middle-class.
There should and must be middle-income people who do other jobs, work hard and intelligently to produce goods and services who are well trained and educated, many with college degrees. Their wages should be higher. This top heavy economy was created by people and people like you and I can change it. It is presently designed to subsidize billionaires, billionaires like Trump who probably paid no taxes for at least 18 years and perhaps in his lifetime. Nature or God did not create our current economic system. People did and other people can change it. Stagnant wages for the middle-class for 36 years and the greatest economic inequality since 1910 is wrong and unjust. But you and I are here not only to protest it but to act now to change it.
Second, you need to help us organize. We are now starting on the ground, going door-to-door leading to nationwide rallies espousing our positive mission and vision for the future, higher growth mainly going to much higher wages built into the economic system. Your funds are being used to organize and support volunteers we have eager to work for the vision. We have seen this work for both Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. It works because middle-class and working-class people have been ignored by the Democratic centrists and so most turned to Donald Trump for hope. They need true hope and results not just the false hope peddled by conman Donald Trump.
We know digital works because Donald Trump's Tweets and Bernie Sanders' email and digital campaign worked. Bernie Sanders raised about $250 million from over six million donors. If we raised that much we could reform the Democratic Party as I am outlining, from the bottom up, not the top down. With your support, we project we will be friending millions of people online this year with our digital campaign.
Finally, we offer a new, extremely innovative high tech app that will meet the online organizing needs of all progressive Democrats. It will be in a fast, efficient and easy to use format for busy people. This will offer a quick and easy way for everyone to find out objective information and connect with like-minded people. It also allows activists to back the organizations and the candidates standing-up for your issues and priorities. Anyone will be able to donate any amount for any political group, person and issue one chooses to support through this new APP.
Please contribute here now and we will be able to knock on more doors, set up rallies next month and finish a first prototype of our app in two weeks. Anyone will be able to donate any amount for any political group or for any issue with our new app. We can then also begin our intense digital campaign in the next month and build up our ground organization.
Thank you very much for helping the reform of the Democratic Party to serve ail of the people and organize everyone to get back to a progressive party we all know and respect. We will keep you up to date on the progress we make.
